In recent interviews, best-selling author George R.R. Martin has indicated that there are chances of a film adaptation of the popular video game Elden Ring.

Not for the first time, author George R. R. Martin has teased the possibility of Elden Ring coming to the big screen. Known for fantasy book series A Song of Ice and Fire, Martin famously made contributions to the lore of FromSoftware's beloved open world RPG. Speaking to IGN, he stated there's "some talk about making a movie out of Elden Ring".

This is just talk, but both Game Of Thrones author George R.R. Martin (who helped write the game’s story) and FromSoft chief Hidetaka Miyazaki have mentioned the possibility of an Elden Ring film. When asked about possibly getting involved in a sequel,

Author George R.R. Martin has revealed that a movie based on Elden Ring might be in development soon. However, despite creating the game’s mythology, he may not be directly involved in the project. The popular 2022 game, developed by FromSoftware, could be making its way to the big screen.

According to George R.R. Martin, there are “talks” of an Elden Ring movie – but if it happens, there’s a good chance he won’t work on it.

It's still early days for a potential Elden Ring movie, and there is no word yet on if it's animated or live-action, or who may direct and star in it. As for confirmed releases, the next two video game movies on tap are A Minecraft Movie (April 4) and Until Dawn (April 25).
