Ginny & Georgia' creator Sarah Lampert adressed many aspects of the ending in an interview with Deadline while teasing what to expect in Season 4.

Season three started with Georgia still married to Mayor Paul, however their marriage quickly deteriorated as her trial started. Paul ended up leaving the family home and abandoned Georgia. However, after Georgia found Ginny's positive pregnancy test, she decided to use it to keep Paul in their marriage.
