Authorities in Indian-controlled Kashmir have temporarily shuttered more than half of the tourist resorts in the scenic Himalayan region after last week’s deadly attack on tourists raised tensions between India and Pakistan and led to an intensifying security crackdown in Kashmir.

Based on a government order reviewed by Reuters, more than half of the tourist destinations in the Kashmir region have been closed to the public from Tuesday in a bid to tighten security after last week's attack on holiday-makers.

After deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, 48 out of 87 public parks and tourist sites in Jammu and Kashmir have been closed.
