The Red Sox have activated right-handed starting pitcher Lucas Giolito from the 15-day injured list. They placed a reliever on the bereavement list.

TORONTO — Sixteen months into his Red Sox tenure, righthander Lucas Giolito is ready to make his debut for his not-so-new club.

The Red Sox announced that they have activated Giolito from the 15-day injured list and that the right-hander will make his first start of the season on Wednesday night against the Toronto Blue Jays. To clear space on the active roster, the Red Sox also placed left-hander Brennan Bernardino on the bereavement list.
