According to a report from longtime NBA reporter Gery Woelfel, New York is preparing to make a "tsunami-type offer" to trade for Antetokounmpo. In addition, the Knicks may be trying to bring in a favorite of the superstar forward to be their new head coach.

The club is also expected to pursue two more active NBA head coaches outside of Kidd after a recent report from Ian Begley. In addition to Kidd, the Knicks have a "degree of interest" in Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka and Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch, according to Begley.

After their elimination by the Indiana Pacers, the New York Knicks promptly fired head coach Tom Thibodeau. Just days later, the franchise has reportedly identified a favored candidate to lead the team for the 2025-26 season.
