Jersey City has canceled classes for a second day Tuesday due to the clean-up after the snowstorm​ proving to be a daunting task.

Much of North Jersey is still digging out from the weekend's storm, the most severe to hit the area in nearly five years, experts said.

Governor Mikie Sherrill today lifted the state of emergency declared across all 21 New Jersey counties due to the severe winter weather that blew through the region over the weekend.  “From the minute I was sworn in as governor,

"We are expecting light snow to fall at that time, potentially getting heavier by daybreak on Sunday," Lee said. "The heaviest snow will fall in morning hours of Sunday from 7 a.m. until about 1 or 2 p.m. in the afternoon."

New Shore area snow estimates expect between 7 and 11 inches by the end of the storm on Monday.
