The latest agreement between OpenAI and Oracle will expand Stargate’s data center capacity, ultimately surpassing the halfway point of their goal.
OpenAI has today confirmed the 4.5GW deal for Stargate data center capacity in the US, spread across the country. According to the companies, along with the Stargate I site in Abilene, Texas, OpenAI and Oracle will now have more than 5GW of data center capacity under development.
Oracle and OpenAI are developing additional data-center capacity for the AI infrastructure project — but Evercore says investors are wondering how Oracle will finance the cost.
