Brooks finished his time at Tech with 4,557 rushing yards across 56 games, breaking Byron Hanspard’s program record late in his final season with the Red Raiders. Brooks scored 47 total touchdowns which ranks third in program history and is one of seven players with more than 5,000 career all purpose yards for Tech (5,126).

With their last pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected Tahj Brooks from Texas Tech. Up until that moment, Cincinnati had only taken players on the offensive or defensive line or a linebacker. Brooks is expected to come in and complement the Bengals' lead back, Chase Brown.
