At least 11 people were killed when a man drove through a crowd at a Filipino community festival in Vancouver on Saturday evening, Canadian police said.

A man drove a vehicle into a crowd at a Filipino heritage festival in the Canadian city of Vancouver, killing 11 people and injuring more than 20 others, in what authorities described as a car ramming attack that shook the country ahead of a federal election.

The attack shattered a sense of safety for parents and dancers from Seattle’s Kalahi Philippine Dance Company, who attended the heritage festival Saturday.
