A Seattle-area woman has pleaded not guilty to federal firearm charges in connection to the fatal shooting of a U.S. Border Patrol agent in Vermont in January. Teresa Youngblut, 21, faces charges of using a deadly weapon while assaulting a Border Patrol agent and using a firearm during and in relation to that assault.

Prosecutors say a Washington state woman charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a U.S. border patrol agent had been in frequent contact with someone whom authorities have linked to homicides in Pennsylvania.

A suspect has been charged in the U.S. District Court in Burlington, Vt., in the shooting death of U.S. Border Patrol agent David Maland in Vermont on Monday afternoon.

The FBI has acknowledged connections with other deaths but has not yet publicly discussed the broader investigation.

On Thursday, a grand jury indicted Teresa Youngblut on two counts of using a deadly weapon and discharging that weapon while resisting a federal agent.

Teresa Youngblut, accused of starting the January 20 shooting that left Agent Maland and Felix Bauckholt dead, was indicted by a Grand Jury Thursday evening on two firearm assault charges. She is pleading not guilty to the arraignment.
