The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) has acquired Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka. Originally opened in 1963 as Topeka Dragway, the facility later evolved into Heartland Motorsports Park.

Racing is returning to Topeka’s Heartland Motorsports Park on Oct. 8-10.

Sean Dixon, president of Visit Topeka, said it's exciting for anyone with racing in their DNA to see Heartland Motorsports Park return.

The IHRA said the history, soul, and footprint of the property will make their vision possible.
