With just hours until the partial government shutdown deadline, the Senate on Friday remained stalled on a path forward because of an objection by Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Senate lawmakers are making progress toward funding the Department of Homeland Security, however this does not rule out the chances of a partial government shutdown.

“The agreement we reached today did precisely what Democrats wanted,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., told reporters after the vote.
