The entire Kansas City metro area is now under a winter storm watch as a major storm targeting the southern and eastern U.S. has shifted further north, according to the National Weather Service.

Only the top half of Georgia is expected to be impacted by the winter storm, and not even every community under a winter storm watch is expected to get snow.

Between 4 and 8 inches of snow are in the forecast, the National Weather Service says, but it won’t all come at once.
