The European Commission originally imposed a fine of 242 million euros on Qualcomm in July 2019, saying it held a dominant position on the market of chipsets at a worldwide level at least from the start of 2009 till the end of 2011.

Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM) shares are trading marginally higher on Wednesday in the premarket session. Qualcomm’s EU antitrust fine was largely upheld by Europe’s second-highest Court, with a slight reduction from 242 million euros to 238.

The judgements centred on two separate fines from Brussels officials to the US tech giant and chipmaker in 2019.
