NEW YORK (AP) — Jeannie Seely, the soulful country music singer behind such standards like “Don’t Touch Me,” has died. She was 85. Her publicist, Don Murry Grubbs, said she died Friday after succumbing to complications from an intestinal infection.

Country music icon Jeannie Seely, known for her groundbreaking career and record-setting presence on the Grand Ole Opry, has died at age 85.

Jeannie Seely won a Grammy at just 26 for her song Don't Touch Me, which charted highly in the US, and enjoyed an illustrious career which spanned several decades
