Kavan Markwood, a 20-year-old former high school and college athlete from the area, plummeted over a rail at PNC Park last Wednesday when the Pirates hosted the Chicago Cubs. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he has remained since.

Kavan Markwood told TribLive Wednesday that he hasn’t watched the video April 30 of his 21-foot plunge from the Clemente Wall to the right field warning track at PNC Park. Markwood fell while celebrating an Andrew McCutchen double.

His former coach says that Markwood, who is in critical condition after a fall at Wednesday's Pirates game, is "an exceptional young man."
