The Toronto Raptors reportedly discussed trading RJ Barrett to the New Orleans Pelicans as part of the deal for Brandon Ingram

According to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Toronto Raptors could look to trade RJ Barrett this offseason.  The Raptors acquired Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans at this year’s trade deadline.

The Toronto Raptors were reportedly willing to lose RJ Barrett at February's trade deadline, and that means they could look to trade him again during the upcoming offseason. On Monday, Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype reported Toronto discussed including Barrett in the trade that landed it Brandon Ingram.

RJ Barrett was discussed in trade talks for Brandon Ingram with New Orleans, but the Pelicans preferred the expiring contract of Bruce Brown and stretch-five center Kelly Olynyk, who’s owed $13.45 million next season,

In February, the Toronto Raptors acquired Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans ahead of the trade deadline. Though he has yet to make his debut with the team, many have high hopes for Ingram in Toronto.
