President Donald Trump reasserted his support for Pete Hegseth in a Tuesday interview with ABC News, refusing to pander to a “stupid question” on his confidence in the defense secretary. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Tuesday that he will move to end a Department of Defense program for women created during and promoted by the first Trump administration.

Colin Carroll, a former top Pentagon official, said in an interview over the weekend that he's "not sure" if Department of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is OK. Carroll served as the chief of staff to the deputy secretary of defense but was fired this month amid an internal investigation into Pentagon leaks.
