Weather forecasters in the New Jersey region are breathing a sigh of relief after the nasty snow and ice storm pelted our region with hefty amounts of snow and plenty of sleet on Sunday and early Monday. Partly because the storm is over, and they can finally get some rest.
The storm deaths were reported in New York, Tennessee, Louisiana, Kansas, Texas, Massachusetts, Arkansas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, Kentucky and New Jersey, and other deaths were under investigation.

The PATH train system — which connects Newark, Jersey City and Hoboken to Manhattan — was running on a Saturday schedule, with some enhanced service, said its operator, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
