Twenty-five firefighters battled a house fire for nearly two and a half hours on Tuesday afternoon, with all occupants escaping without injury and a dog being rescued, but a cat inside the home did not survive.

Crews worked to extinguish a fire at a home in Southeast D.C. on Sunday afternoon. In a post on X just before 1:55 p.m., the DC Fire and EMS Department (DCFD) said firefighters responded to a fire at a single-family home in the 4300 block of Texas Ave.

SUNNYSIDE, Queens (WABC) -- A man died in a house fire in Queens early Friday morning. Fire broke out on the home's first floor on 46th Street in Sunnyside just before 3 a.m. The 65-year-old resident was pronounced dead at the scene.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said six fire engines were sent to the scene at Northam after fire broke out just after midnight on Thursday. A spokesperson said firefighters from seven stations had been tackling the blaze at a large two-storey derelict house.
