Sonic boom East of England cause confirmed as police explain loud bang heard across Cambridgeshire
The cause of a 'loud bang' heard across the East of England has been explained. Locals in Cambridgeshire, Essex, and Suffolk reported hearing the noise at around 11.40am on Friday (August 15).
The RAF says it is aware of an incident which resulted in a sonic boom being heard over Suffolk and other parts of East Anglia.
The RAF has confirmed that the loud bang heard across Cambridgeshire this morning (Friday August 15) was a sonic boom.
