Vance Luther Boelter, 57, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly killing a Minnesota Democratic state lawmaker and her husband while posing as a police officer, Governor Tim Walz said.

Minnesota Sen. John Hoffman's wife shared an update after a shooting injured the couple at their home early Saturday morning. The family also shared a statement after the suspect was taken into custody.

Officers were initially dispatched to the 6500 block of Routt Street regarding a call about a shooting.
