The WBZ Weather Team is issuing a Next Weather Alert as several rounds of storms are expected to impact the Boston area throughout the day. If you're making Sunday plans, keep an umbrella handy and stay weather-aware.
Stay weather aware Monday, our unsettled pattern persists with scattered showers, strong storms (gusty wind) and locally heavy rain.
Severe storms could unfold Monday morning and afternoon, though forecasters aren’t sure yet if the models are right.
Sunday will give us mixed skies with a trend for much more sunshine than Saturday. We cannot rule out an additional shower or rumble.

Not everyone will see rain today, but where storms do develop, they could pack a punch. The main concerns are heavy downpours and frequent lightning, along with the possibility of damaging wind gusts and even small hail. Rain and storms will taper off later tonight.
After some early morning showers and storms, especially for the Jersey Shore and Long Island, clouds will give way to some sunshine for midday. Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s and low 90s, with heat indices of 95+ degrees by this afternoon. We're back to that real tropical feel today.

As high pressure begins to build in, rain chances will taper off some becoming more isolated as we head towards the middle of the week. Then, all eyes are on the heat and humidity continuing to ramp up. Temps will be in the low to mid 90’s with it feeling more like the upper 90’s to near 100 degrees.

The main threat from storms that develop today will be strong winds to 50 to 60 mph. Locally heavy rain is expected as well that may result in localized short term flooding of low spots.”
According to the town, strong storms destroyed one of the town's main transformers on Saturday, plunging most of the town's residents into the dark.
