Tolls for the soon-to-open Gordie Howe International Bridge will start out cheaper than the privately-owned Ambassador Bridge and the Detroit-Windsor tunnel. And discounts will make them even cheaper.
Toll rates have been announced for crossing the soon-to-be-open Gordie Howe International Bridge between Detroit and Windsor.
The span will be “opening this spring,” according to a statement issued by the bridge company on Wednesday.
Commercial trucks, oversized vehicles and larger passenger vehicles will pay a standard toll of $8.75 USD, or $12 CAD, per axle, with a Breakaway rate of $6.90 USD, or $9.60 CAD, per axle.
Newly announced toll prices for the Gordie Howe Bridge are significantly lower than those of the Ambassador Bridge and Detroit-Windsor Tunnel, with passenger vehicles benefiting the most.
