VESTAL, N.Y. (WBNG) -- The Big Lots in Vestal will close early Monday at 8:30 p.m. According to Vestal’s Big Lots spokesperson, the store closure will occur in March. The company plans to close its doors forever on March 16. The closure follows the announcement that Big Lots will close 300 stores nationwide.

Gordon Brothers, which acquired the struggling Columbus-based retailer last month put around 500 stores up for sale and assigned another 200 to Henderson, North Carolina-based Variety Wholesalers Inc. who will continue to operate those locations under the Big Lots brand.
