Thailand's Bhumjaithai Party on Wednesday withdrew from Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra's government in a major blow to the embattled premier, leaving her ruling coalition with only a slim majority.

The move by the Bhumjaithai party followed the leak of a recorded phone call between PM Paetongtarn and Cambodia’s former leader Hun Sen.

The second-largest party in Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra’s government quit the ruling coalition, a major setback for the leader facing calls for resignation for blaming her own military for escalating a border dispute with neighbor Cambodia.
