The D.C. Council has up to 70 days upon receipt of the budget to vote and adopt it, which means they’d need to get the budget in the coming days to have both of their budget votes by July 15 if they take all 70 days to work on the budget.

Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Washington Commanders announced the team’s return to the district with a new stadium deal on Monday. For the return to happen, however, it needs the approval of the D.

Commanders ownership has been considering places in Washington, Maryland and Virginia since buying the team from Dan Snyder in 2022. The most recent progress came when Congress passed a bill transferring the RFK Stadium land to D.C. Former President Joe Biden signed it into law in early January.
