The memoir "The Salt Path" by Raynor Winn, which inspired a film starring Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs, is now embroiled in controversy.

The Salt Path tells the story of Winn and her husband, Moth, who become homeless and embark on a 1,000km journey along the Devon and Cornwall coast, wild camping in all weathers. Nature proved not just spiritually healing but also physically, as Moth’s degenerative condition seemed to improve.

Author Raynor Winn's new book has been delayed because questions about her bestselling work The Salt Path have caused her and her husband "considerable distress", her publisher has said. Penguin Michael Joseph said the decision to postpone the publication of her fourth book, On Winter Hill, had been made with Winn.
