A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of an 11-year-old at a Minneapolis park last month.
MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara says a 16-year-old male has been arrested for the murder of 11-year-old Amir Lamar Atkins. The 16-year-old was arrested on Tuesday in Apple Valley. He was taken into custody without incident and was booked into the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center.
Minneapolis Police Department says the shooting was reported at an apartment building on the 100 block of East 59th Street in the Windom neighborhood at 12:37 p.m., with officers arriving to find a man and a woman – both in their 20s – dead and a woman in her 40s with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
