Low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines expresses substantial doubt about continuing operations within 12 months after debt restructuring and bankruptcy exit.

After cutting its debt during restructuring, Spirit has tried to attract bookings by marketing more upscale products and looking for new ways to cut costs.

The budget airline, headquartered in Broward County, blamed reduced demand for domestic airfare on its inability to meet debt obligations spelled out in its recent bankruptcy settlement.
