There are strong diplomatic relations between Canada and South Korea (Republic of Korea). Canadian soldiers participated in the defense of South Korea during the Korean War. Full diplomatic relations between Canada and South Korea were established on January 14, 1963.

Canada and Korea share strong transnational linkages stemming from historical personal connections which are enhanced by increasing immigration and tourism flows, as well as increased commercial relations. South Korea is among the top source countries of international students in Canada.
