Happy Birthday to us! 🎈🎂🎁 Tate Liverpool opened on 24 May 1988. In 1985, James Stirling was commissioned to design the gallery, which was originally called ‘Tate of the North’. The transformation turned the disused 19th century buildings on the @thealbertdock into simple but elegant spaces for art.
