Winchester Model 1897 Or commonly referred to as the Trench Gun during World War I and World War II. American soldiers referred to this shotgun as the Trench Sweeper for its ability to fire quickly by “slam firing” it. It was so effective the German government tried to outlaw it to no avail. The Trench gun was used pre WWI to Vietnam by US Forces. It was an honor to be able to fire such a historic piece.
