I've been working on rigging up an electric motor with a gear reduction to turn over the engine so that i could run in the bearings, particularly the connecting rods. Before doing so, the engine was a bit stiff. I could turn it over by using a crank that I engaged into the holes in the crankshaft flanges, but it was too stiff to be able to roll by just grasping tge flanges themselves.
