PRESCRIBED BURN: Pasco News has received many inquires about smoke in eastern Pasco County. Florida Forest Service has a 2500-acre prescribed fire in the Richloam Tract area of the Withlacoochee State Forest. This fire is causing smoke conditions in eastern Pasco. A "Prescribed Burn" is the controlled application of fire by a team of fire experts, under specified weather conditions. The purpose is to restore health to ecosystems which depend on fire. The burns improve wildlife habitat, eliminate
