In school, Irish was often treated like maths. Right or wrong. Learn this off. Marks on a page. It wasn’t really a language, it was a subject. But now there’s a shift happening. People are starting to see Irish for what it actually is: a living, breathing way to connect, express, belong. And that’s where this idea of the Nua-Ghael comes in. Not the perfect speaker (if that exists). Not the grammar warrior. Just someone who’s using the language, however they have it. And honestly, it’s I love it.
